Iceland is the last place on earth when you think about bikinis. But in fact, it's home to many adventures that require a swimsuit! It boasts an array of waterfalls, rivers, beaches and geothermal pools so packing a swimsuit, or two, is paramount!
Here are our top 5 bikini adventures in Iceland that you won't regret packing your swimsuit for:
1. Blue Lagoon
A trip here is a must. Home to one of the 25 wonders of the world, the Blue Lagoon is a place where you can immerse in the geothermal waters, surrounded by a stunning landscape and treat yourself to transformational spa treatments. While touristy, it's still magical.
Pre booking is required. Base entrance fee includes treating yourself to a Silica mud mask, 1st free drink and a towel. From there, you can also take advantage of the various restaurants, and spa and massage treatments.
2. Snorkel Silfra
In Iceland, you can snorkel between two continents known as the Silfra and it is one of the top dive sites in the world. Silfra is a fissure created by the separation of the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates cutting through Iceland. The Silfra fissure fills with glacial water that has been filtered underground for decades through hardened, porous lava rock. The filtering process of the glacial water makes Silfra one of the clearest bodies of water on earth with up to 120 meters of visibility.
Snorkelling between two continents wearing thermals and a dry suit (so our bodies and feet didn’t actually get wet, only our face and hands) was such a crazy, unique, and quite extreme adventure!

3. Surf among seals
Iceland is the last place you think of for a surf trip. But Iceland is an island in the middle of the North Atlantic surrounded by ocean, so of course it has waves! It actually has really good waves! Underneath all your neoprene, hood, gloves and booties you'll need a bikini!

4. Secret Lagoon
A swim in secret lagoon provides a less touristy experience than the Blue Lagoon. Built in 1891, this rustic geothermal pool is regarded as the oldest in all of Iceland. It has been kept natural, simple, and unique for visitors to receive the true Icelandic experience. It offers a more 'local' geothermal pool experience, one that takes you back in time.

5. Seljavallalaug Swimming Pool
Seljavallalaug Pool is located on Iceland’s south coast, relatively near Skogafoss Waterfall. If you are driving in Iceland, you can make this one of your stops along the Ring Road.
This abandoned swimming pool was built in 1923 by a local man who's intent was teaching other Icelandic people how to swim. It was created at the foot of a mountain in south Iceland and is fed naturally by hot water (as are most pools in Iceland). However, please note this is not a geothermal hot pool - more like a heated swimming pool.
In order to reach Seljavallalaug Swimming Pool, you have to take a short but easy hike. Park your car at the Seljavallalaug parking lot, and take a 20 minute hike (1.8km each way) across the rocky mountain valley before descending on the abandoned swimming hole.
Access is free of charge, which means the pool is not as maintained as others (apparently once a year) so be prepapred for algae and other tourists leaving rubbish in and around the pool as well as the change rooms. Please remember to take your trash and leave no trace when you visit Seljavallalaug.
